2019 Family Freedom Celebration Grill Off and Chill Off

Official Rules

About the Event

The 2019 Praise Family Church® Family Freedom Celebration is better than ever! Our Homemade Ice Cream Contest, the Chill Off is back! This year it's sponsored by The Core Community Coffee House and you could win a brand new Yeti® Ice Chest!

New this year, we are announcing the KILLERDOCK Grill Off. You can put your grilling skills to the ultimate test and could even walk away with a Traeger® Pro Series 780 Grill!

In addition to classic games for the kids, free hot dogs, and Sno Cones for the family, we'll end the night with the Roto-Rooter fireworks show! Every person in attendance will be able to vote for their favorite Chill Off and Grill Off entry. You don't want to miss this!

Here’s the best part—the entire event is FREE! It all takes place July 3rd at 6:30 PM.

General Rules

This is an attender’s choice competition. Those in attendance will be able to vote for their favorite entries. So the best way to win is to invite people to come and vote for you!

After you register we’ll assign you a place to tailgate. All of our spots have electrical access and are within walking distance to a restroom. You must have clear signage stating your entry and your name. (i.e. Pork Chops by John Smith, Peanut Butter Ice Cream by Jane Joe, ect.)

You’ll be able to drive your vehicle to your tailgating location until 6 PM. After 6 PM vehicles must remain in place until the end of the event (around 8:30 PM) or be parked in the parking lot for safety.

We recommend you bring a canopy tent as it helps your area stand out. (More votes!) You’ll also need a table to serve your potential voters.

We reserve the right to disqualify anyone who is acting, preparing or cooking in our judgment, in an unsafe or unhealthy way. Disqualified contestants must pack up and discontinue their cooking.

You may only have one entry per person in the Grill Off and the Chill Off, even if you make more than one dish. For instance, John Smith wants to showcase his grilled chicken and grill steak, that’s one entry that will be listed as, “Lemon Grilled Chicken and Medium Ribeye by John Smith.” John may also have an entry in the Chill Off listed separately, “Vanilla Ice Cream with Cotton Candy flavor and pieces by John Smith.”

The prizes of the respective competitions will be given to the individual whose name was submitted on the entry form. Team entries are entirely at the discretion of the parties involved. (However, it makes more sense to have more entries as you have a better chance of winning!)
